Why Growee Hydro Master Beats Traditional Hydroponics Meters?

Hydro Master vs Traditional Hydroponics Meters

When it comes to hydroponics systems, maintaining the perfect balance of pH, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), and EC (Electrical Conductivity) is crucial for optimal plant growth. Traditional tools like pH meters, TDS meters, and EC meters help monitor these levels, but the Growee Hydro Master takes it a step further.

Why We Created the Growee Hydro Master: Our Journey to Revolutionize Hydroponics

When we first started developing the Growee platform, the hydroponics industry was dominated by two types of products, each at different price points: standard water meters and dosing controllers.

Growee Hydro Master development

Traditional Meters – pH Meter / EC Meter / TDS Meter

These meters are used to measure the chemistry of the water and typically come in the form of monitoring pens. While the most common ones are the pH pen and TDS pen by Bluelab.

They are easy to operate: simply place the pen in the water and read the digital screen. However, they are time-consuming and require manual adjustments which lead to human errors. Despite being simple products, they are a staple in any hydroponics shop, garden, or even commercial grow facility.

Old School Dosing Controllers

On the other end of the spectrum were hydroponics controllers, similar to irrigation controllers but more suitable for hydroponics. This product is more commendable among small commercial setups, both indoor and greenhouse.

These devices combined pH and EC meters with the ability to control dosing pumps. However, even the smaller-scale controllers were prohibitively expensive, starting at $1500, and were complicated to operate.

Our Vision: Crafting the Ultimate Hydroponics Controller for Home and Small-Scale Growers

As home growers ourselves, we wanted a smart, affordable product. A $1500 controller wasn’t an option. So, we set out to develop a solution that would act both as a meter and a controller while adding more capabilities like internet connectivity, software updates, cloud integration, and an app. After years of R&D, we created the Growee Hydro Master.

Growee R&D

The Growee Hydro Master

The result was an innovative product that combines the functionalities of pH meters, EC meters, and controllers while integrating advanced technologies like Wi-Fi connectivity, cloud integration, and a user-friendly app.

A powerful, easy-to-use device that revolutionizes hydroponics management for home growers and commercial operations alike.

It was also important for us to make it a scalable platform. You can start with basic pH and EC monitoring capabilities—similar to hydroponics combo meters—but have the option to upgrade and add more dosers and functionalities. Traditional combo meters don’t offer this flexibility.

Why Growee Hydro Master is Changing the Hydroponics Game?

The Growee Hydro Master is changing hydroponics management with its smart, user-friendly design and advanced features. Here’s how:

  • Cost-Effective: The pricing point is about a third of traditional controllers.
  • Remote Monitoring: Wi-Fi communication to the Growee cloud and App.
  • Automated Control: Automatically adjusts pH and nutrient levels, ensuring optimal conditions without manual intervention.
  • Scalable: Start with basic pH and EC monitoring and upgrade to more advanced capabilities as your needs (and plants) grow. In simple words, it is a smart combo meter and control dosing pump.
  • Easy to Operate: Simplifies hydroponic management with an intuitive UI/UX, reducing the learning curve for beginners and experts alike.

Growee Hydro Master vs. Bluelab Guardian Monitor Wi-Fi

The Growee Hydro Master not only monitors but also adjusts pH and nutrient levels automatically. In contrast, the Bluelab Guardian Monitor Wi-Fi provides monitoring but lacks automated adjustments.

Remote Management – Growee Also Includes LAN Option

Both products offer remote monitoring. However, the Growee Hydro Master provides extensive options for areas where Wi-Fi signals are weak, such as basements, isolated rooms, or greenhouses outside the house.

The Growee Hydro Master Has The Ability to Control The Water’s pH Levels

The Growee Hydro Master excels in automation and scalability, making it a superior choice over the Bluelab Guardian Monitor Wi-Fi. Here’s why:

The Growee Hydro Master not only monitors but also has automation capabilities that are part of the core technology of the product. All you need to do is connect the Growee pH balancer dosing device to the Hydro Master, and it will transform into a combo meter with pH controller capabilities.

Being a scalable product, it allows you to add more dosers as you go, enhancing your system’s functionality and automation over time. It is not just a pH meter with dosing pumps, the Growee Hydro Master is a versatile hydroponics control system for home and commercial growers alike.

Growee Hydro Master Has The Ability To Control Nutrient Dosing Pumps

The Growee Hydro Master’s capabilities extend well beyond just monitoring and pH control; it is a combo meter on steroids. Controlling nutrient dosing is achievable with the addition of the Growee Nutrient Doser. This add-on allows for precise and automated nutrient delivery, ensuring your plants get exactly what they need for optimal growth. By adding the Nutrient Doser, the Hydro Master will turn into a cloud-connected dosing controller.

Cost Comparison: Growee Hydro Master vs. Bluelab Guardian Monitor Wi-Fi

Adding pH Control

With the Growee Hydro Master, you simply add the Growee pH balancer add-on, which costs $350. To add pH control with the Bluelab setup, you would need to buy an additional pH controller, putting the total cost in the $800-$900 range.

Adding Nutrient Control

With the Growee Hydro Master, you simply add the nutrient dosing add-on, making it a more cost-effective and scalable solution. Each nutrient doser includes 2 dosing pumps. When connected to the Growee Hydro Master, you can control them using the Growee App. Each dosing add-on costs $350.

The Challenge with Traditional Combo Meters – You Can’t Add Dosers

If you want to add nutrient control with traditional combo meters, you would need to replace the combo meter and buy a new product. For example, if you have the Bluelab Guardian Monitor and want to add nutrient control, you would need to purchase the Blue Lab Pro Combo, which is capable of controlling dosing pumps. This can add an additional $1600-$2000 to your setup costs. This doesn’t even consider the loss from the initial combo meter purchase.

Conclusion

The Growee Hydro Master is a game-changer in hydroponics systems, offering automated, scalable, and efficient management of pH, EC, and nutrient levels. The Growee platform was built to support home and small-scale commercial growers across all industrial verticals, from tent growers, vertical farms, and greenhouse growers to homemade hydroponics systems. Its advanced features and ease of use make it superior to traditional meters and even advanced systems like the Bluelab Guardian Monitor Wi-Fi.
